EP 156: SELLING WITH INTEGRITY -- The downside to upselling

In this week’s installment of the Do It With Intention podcast, I begin a new series called Selling With Integrity. While most massage and bodywork therapists did not get into the business to generate sales, it’s still a crucial part of every practice. And it doesn’t have to feel gross.

Listen in as I talk about some common myths around selling — myths we often feel we must follow — and the mistakes that go along with these myths.

“The myth is that you should always be upselling. That’s the only way you can make a livable income. In fact, upselling feels pushy and gross when it’s done to us, and I don’t recommend it. Here’s what to do instead.”

This week on the Do It With Intention Podcast:

  • Learn what upselling is and why you don’t have to practice it to attract ideal clients.

  • How it is far more important to listen carefully than to talk during the sales conversation.

  • Find out why treating clients as commodities is a non-starter.
